Inspections Corner
Get ready to race by avoiding these common mistakes that inspectors find when inspecting cars:
Stock Cars
- Bolts in rear stabilizer may be slot headed or philips headed bolts.
- The steering cable should be wrapped correctly around the steering shaft. Please refer to figure 5.27 in the Stock Car Plans.
- Make sure the washer stack on bolts is correct.
- The bolts on the brake pad CANNOT be cut.
- The brake pad bolts CANNOT be embedded into the floorboard. No holes may be drilled into the floorboard to recess the brake pad bolts.
- Weight combinations must NOT exceed 12″ in length.
- Shell attachment holes may not be enlarged.
Super Stock Cars
- Bolts in rear angle iron may be slot headed or philips headed bolts.
- The steering cable should be wrapped correctly around the steering shaft. Please refer to figure 5.27 in the Stock Car Plans.
- Make sure the washer stack on bolts is correct.
- The bolts on the brake pad CANNOT be cut.
- The brake pad bolts CANNOT be embedded into the floorboard. No holes may be drilled into the floorboard to recess the brake pad bolts.
- Weight combinations must NOT exceed 12″ in length.
- Shell attachment holes may not be enlarged.
- Airfoils must be cut perpendicular to axle. They CANNOT be cut at an angle.
Masters Cars
- The weight bolt under the racer’s head MUST be cut.
- The hatch hinge bolts on the inside of the car MUST be cut.
- The hatch opening must be 7″ wide to accommodate the 7″ foam protection. It may be necessary to trim the hatch to meet the 7” width measurement.
All Divisions
- Shoes MUST have some type of sole.
- Socks cannot be used as a shoe.
- Tape is not allowed to be used to form a sole.
